Alisa Claire, originally hailing from Washington, DC has been studying dance for over 30 years. She grew up learning about the art in a facility that strived to teach performance and classical technique, along side musical theatre. After graduating high school, she attended Dean College, Conservatory of Dance where she received her degree in Dance.
After she graduated from Dean College, her career quickly took her to places all over the world, performing in commercial dance, music videos, and live music concerts as a dancer for several artists in the West Indies including Toni Norville, Buju Banton, Sean Paul.
Soon after, she returned to New York City and her classical roots and had the pleasure of performing for incredible artists such as Aszure Barton, Cherice Barton, Ayelen Liberona, and many more. While she loved performing, her ultimate passion was in creating choreography and bringing a vision to life.
Since then, Alisa became the Resident Choreographer for The American Globe Theatre in NYC. She choreographed and set several of her contemporary works globally at multiple universities to professional dance companies. Alisa also choreographed musicals nationwide in regional theatres. Alongside her choreography, many of her masterclasses involve audition technique.
Alisa’s passion in education in the arts lead her to the creation of NYC’s LMproject, LLC., where she is the Founder, Artistic Director, and Choreographer. For over ten years, she created programs to help young artists more closely achieve their goals in the performing arts. Most recently, she has created a performing and creative arts summer camp, Camp Meraki. She founded this program to create a space where students can be fully immersed in a safe space that opens doors into the world of the arts.
